Hell's Gate is Kenya's only national park where you can walk or cycle among the wildlife. There are no predators large enough to threaten humans, so the park is open in a way others are not. The geothermal landscape of cliffs, gorges, and hot springs makes it unique. The park is also home to a geothermal power station that generates electricity for much of Kenya. Hell's Gate is conservation and infrastructure, tourism and energy, coexisting in an uneasy balance.
