Cricket in Kenya has roots in British colonial administration and the Indian diaspora. Historically a sport of Asian communities in Kenya's urban centers, cricket has expanded to broader participation. Kenya achieved international cricket prominence by competing in the ICC Cricket World Cup, with a remarkable semi-final appearance in 2003.

Kenya Cricket Board oversees development of the sport. While Kenya does not compete at the highest levels of international cricket (Test cricket), its participation in One-Day International cricket and ICC tournaments represents Kenya's presence in global cricket.
