George Adamson established Kora National Reserve in northern Kenya adjacent to Samburu region. Joy Adamson worked at Shaba Reserve (now Samburu National Reserve) and established international fame for wildlife rehabilitation work. Joy Adamson was murdered in 1980. The Adamsons' conservation work created tourism and international attention to northern Kenya wildlife and communities.
