Nyeri Cultural Sites

Nyeri County contains sacred sites and cultural locations important to Kikuyu heritage. Mount Kenya holds spiritual significance as the traditional dwelling of Ngai (God). Sacred groves, though threatened by development, remain culturally important. Burial grounds and cemetery sites maintain ancestral significance. Sites associated with Mau Mau struggle have historical importance. Cultural heritage protection efforts attempt to preserve sites against development pressures.
